Lawrence F. Regan, Jr.

Mr. Regan has 36 years of experience as an attorney and has been admitted to practice law in the local and federal courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Mr. Regan is also a member of multiple professional organizations and is active in them. Mr. Regan attended the University of Maryland undergraduate and attended the University of Maryland School of Law receiving his Juris Doctor with Honor.

Mr. Regan’s experience includes, serving as counsel of record in more than 2,500 bankruptcy cases in Maryland and the District of Columbia and as supervisory counsel in hundreds or thousands more. Mr. Regan represents clients in civil and criminal litigation in state and federal courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He also maintains a general civil practice including business organization and corporate, general business, contracts, landlord/tenant, wills, etc.

Mr. Regan has received numerous honors and awards for superior legal work. SuperLawyer Magazine has named him a SuperLawyer for both Maryland and Washington, DC (see the website for the rigorous selection criteria). Mr. Regan became a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum after receiving a million dollar verdict in his first auto negligence jury trial. Additionally, Mr. Regan was chosen by the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland to serve as Ethics Counsel to investigate and prosecute a case of attorney misconduct in the Bankruptcy Court. Mr. Regan has served as faculty for continuing professional education programs at the statewide and county level. And, Mr. Regan served as Co- Host and then Host for many years on a “Call in and ask the lawyer” show Saturday mornings on WOL AM 1450.

Mr. Regan has maintained an active pro bono and public service practice including both individual clients and nonprofits. Previously, Mr. Regan served as outside General Counsel and Treasurer of the GTLD Network-a nonprofit advocating for the educational interests of children who were both learning-disabled and gifted and talented. Currently, Mr. Regan serves on the board of SeniorScapes, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to designing and/or building Senior friendly, dementia safe spaces in public parks.

Early in his career, Mr. Regan served on a legal team representing hostages suing the Islamic Republic of Iran under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act in the aftermath of the Iranian hostage crisis. Other notable cases in which Mr. Regan served as counsel include:
