Jude Wikramanayake

Jude is a lifelong Montgomery County resident. He graduated from the Georgetown Preparatory School in Rockville, obtained a bachelors degree at The American University, and received his Juris Doctor from the George Washington University where he was on the editorial board of the Public Contract Law Journal and secured an judicial internship with the Honorable Inez Smith Reid (his former professor) on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Immediately after law school, he worked for a nationally known criminal defense boutique in Washington, DC under the supervision of a former law professor and gathered invaluable experience in high-profile criminal defense matters. He subsequently worked as an associate attorney for one of the largest law firms in Montgomery County where he was involved in complex real estate matters.

He joined the Montero Law Group in 2004 and since that time has concentrated his practice in criminal defense, personal injury, and civil litigation matters (particularly those involving real estate, construction, and contract disputes).

Jude has handled thousands of trials/hearings and has taken hundreds of cases to verdict/judgment.
Through his ability and willingness to take matters to trial, he has also secured very favorable settlements in personal injury and contract matters for his clients.

Because of his litigation experience, Jude has seen the dangers of ambiguous terms in contracts and thus his clients frequently consult him on business sale transactions, licensing agreements, and joint venture agreements to minimize litigation exposure.

Jude is honored to act as primary counsel to a number of small to mid-size businesses (including a national non-profit) and is personal counsel to a number of physicians, real estate investors, government contractors, small business owners, and real estate agents. He is also counsel to a local real estate brokerage and settlement company. While recognizing the need for marketing and promotion, Jude is most humbled and privileged by the fact that the majority of his clientele are referrals from existing clients some dating back to 2004.
